PITTSBURGH, PA — The Steelers have the NFL's second-best record at 11-2, but at this point in the season, remarkably, it's fair to ask: Have the wheels fallen off of the team? The Steelers' offense has been putrid for the past month, with a completely ineffective running game and an inefficient short-passing game that opposing teams seem to have figured out how to stop. The defense has been decimated by injuries and has been on the field far too long for weeks because the offense can't sustain drives. The remedy for what ails the Steelers could come in the form of the Cincinnati Bengals, who come into Monday night's game with a 2-10-1 record. They weren't very good even with impressive rookie quarterback Joe Burrow under center; they have been awful since Burrow was lost for the season due to injury on Nov. 22. There's more at stake here than the Steelers simply improving their game against an inept Bengals team. The Steelers can clinch the AFC North title and at least one home playoff game at Heinz Field with a win or a Cleveland Browns loss to the New York Giants on Sunday.
