PALATINE, IL — Palatine village council has approved its 2021 budget during Monday night's meeting.
Next year's budget, which totals $118.1 million, will contain no property tax levy increase.
The budget will, however, include a water rate increase of 25 cents per 1,000 gallons, a fee hike of 4.25 percent for discretionary things like building permits, business licenses and zoning applications, and raises for village employees.
Speaking of raises, nonunion employees will also get a 2.5 percent salary raise.
The village will have 327 employees next year, down from 333 at the beginning of this year, as a result of layoffs and unfilled positions.
