Kennywood Offering 2021 Protection Against COVID-19 Closures

PITTSBURGH, PA — Kennywood has introduced a new program to protect patrons against any unexpected 2021 park closures due to the coronavirus outbreak. The "Daybreak Guarantee" will extend 2022 season passes for an equal number of days the park has an outbreak-related closure. For example, if the West Mifflin amusement park opens a week late in 2021, passes will be extended to include one week of the 2022 season. In 2022, patrons will be offered prorated discounts on the purchase of renewal passes. The Dayback Guarantee also applies to Kennywood's southwestern Pennsylvania sister parks: Sandcastle in Homestead and Idlewild and SoakZone in Westmoreland County. The guarantee won't be the only change at the park next year. Kennywood is requiring adult chaperones for patrons who are under 18 after 4 p.m. Kennywood also is retiring four rides that have been at park for decades. The Kangaroo, Paratrooper, Bayern Kurve and Volcano will not return in 2021.
