JOB HIGHLIGHTS: Ulrich and Associates Construction is a boutique general contracting company that has serviced the north side of Chicago for 12 years. Ulrich and Associates focuses on both interior and exterior custom residential renovations and remodels. Our team cultivates a positive environment through pride in craftsmanship and detailed specialization of client’s homes. We are local industry leaders and believe that hard work can also be fun. Ulrich and Associates is looking to add experienced trim carpenters and lead carpenters/woodworkers to the team. Applicants who have experience leading fellow carpenters on a job site, as well as apprentice carpenters looking to gain more experience are encouraged to apply. Both carpenter positions work a full-time schedule Monday to Friday with possible weekend work, depending on the progress of a job. The Lead Carpenter Role: -Manage the team through multiple projects concurrently from demo to final cleanup. -Manage tools onsite, and manage tool list needed for each job -Communicate job progress and material/labor requirements. -Ensure josbites are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times -Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work -Installing cabinets and shelving -Install fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures -Install trim - casings, crown, base, etc. -Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job -Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals, as needed -Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations -Perform physical tasks including heavy lifting. -Other duties as required. Lead Carpenter Job Requirements: -7-10 years experience in framing and trim carpentry (preferred). -Detail-oriented. -Team player. -Goal-Oriented -Strong and compassionate communicator -Punctual -Own a basic set of tools -Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license -A background check will be required prior to employment ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Carpenter Role -Execute rough framing per plans as set forth by the lead carpenter. -Trim carpentry and related work. -Demolition and disposal as needed, per job. -Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work. -Installing cabinets and shelving. -Install fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures -Install trim - casings, crown, base, etc. -Performing various tasks including cutting material, transporting equipment, assembling scaffolding, digging, measuring, and more. -Perform physical tasks including heavy lifting. -Other duties as required. Carpenter Job Requirements: -At least 5 years experience in framing and trim carpentry (preferred). -Passionate about your skilled trade. -Team-oriented - you are willing to follow instructions, ask questions, and help your fellow carpenters. -Punctual. -Own a basic set of tools. -Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. Benefits and Pay: -Full time. -Paid time off, vacation pay & overtime. -Lead Carpenter Salary: $25-30/hr or commensurate with experience. -Carpenter Salary: $18-22/hr or commensurate with experience.
