I have 1 flat tire
I found used tires at Hardings on High Street. I originally called the auto mechanic business on JPA where I took it last week for the oil change. They do not have used tires, only new, and the secretary told me that I would have to get all 4 tires replaced because of the car's computer system, all 4 tires need to match in tread or the computer system will cause engine failure or something.
It would be a total of 99$+ for each tire, plus labor. That is out of my budget.
Hardings is $55 per tire and it includes labor, which I can afford. Hardings is not going to make me replace all 4, and since the tire is used I think they can find one that matches the treading of the other 3 tires.
The last 3 cars I've owned have been Subarus, I have never been told until now that you need to replace all 4 tires even if only one of them is flat, and I've had plenty of flat tires over the years, never had engine failure due to changing one tire.
Any knowledge regarding tires impacting the car computer system will be appreciated.
I currently drive a Subaru Forester X 2009. Before that I owned a Subaru Forester
2012, never had an issue changing just 1 tire on the 2012.
Thank you.
