OHIO TOWNSHIP, PA — The coronavirus outbreak has prompted the Avonworth School District in Pittsburgh's northern suburbs to close at least through Nov. 24. All athletics and activities have been canceled as well. District officials said the decision was based in part on the current coronavirus positivity rates in its municipalities: Emsworth: 18 percent.Ohio Township: 16 percent. Kilbuck Township: 14 percent.Ben Avon: 4 percentBen Avon Heights: 0 percent. The district currently has five active cases, according to a post on the Avonworth website.
