PITTSBURGH, PA — Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Jarron Jones was arrested over the weekend on multiple felony domestic violence charges. Jones was charged with aggravated assault, strangulation and simple assault.
Police responded to a call at 2 a.m. on Saturday. According to a criminal complaint obtained by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a woman told police that that Jones and her had a physical altercation in which Jones hit her in the face, choked her and threw her outside.
"We are aware of the situation regarding Jarron Jones," Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said in a statement. "We are gathering all of the details of these disturbing allegations, but we will not comment any further at this time."
Jones is a member of the Steelers practice squad.
