Mt Baker Products is a premier manufacturer of decorative plywood used for cabinetry, furniture and interiors throughout North America. Our company uses veneers like Cherry, Walnut and Oak to produce high end panels for the woodworking industry. Job Summary: The Veneer Pair Up position matches the face and back of panel skins per customer order as part of the production process. Essential Duties: Match the face and back skins on a veneer panel; Identify defects/imperfections and distinguish discolorations; make necessary repairs; Slide and flip large (50"W x 99"L veneer panels. Other duties, as assigned. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Entry-level position; we will train. Prior manufacturing (production; assembly, etc.) and/or experience working with wood products is a plus. Know or be able to learn what constitutes a face and a back on a veneer panel; able to determine, by appearance, the appropriate pairing of panels. Ability to see and identify defects/imperfections/discolorations in veneer panels. Ability to slide and flip large (50" x 99") veneer panels; Ability to stand for long periods of time; Ability to work cooperatively, as part of a team; Ability and willingness to do other similar production duties, as assigned; Be able and willing to work safely at all times and wear assigned PPE; Be willing and able to work overtime, including on Saturdays, as needed. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Position is required to stand for long periods and lift or slide up to 75-100 lbs. on a regular basis. Ability to distinguish fine details on wood panels, such as dents, scratches and discoloration of wood. The work environment includes heavy machinery, dust particles, seasonal temperature changes and moderate to loud noise; PPE must be worn.
