Description

The rose-breasted cockatoo, usually known in its native Australia as the Galah, may be close to the perfect parrot species when it comes to suitability as a pet - at least for an owner who likes to play a lot with a pet bird.Extremely intelligent and enormously fond of humans the bird can readily learn a wide vocabulary when trained diligently and is able to learn other complex tricks as well. As a native to the harsh conditions of central Australia the rose-breasted cockatoos are unusually hardy and free of many of the diseases and disorders common to other parrots. She is a sweet girl who loves attention, loves to hang out with her human flock and really enjoys your company. She's a VERY quiet bird, especially compared to other species of cockatoo! She does talk, and is quick to learn new things. She's apprehensive around new people but soon becomes comfortable and opens up. She does not bite. She is about 10 years old and is healthy and loving. Serious inquiries only- must have knowledge of keeping similar species and/or willing to learn. Must have a cage suitable for her. Looking for a permanent home that's not afraid to seek knowledge about their new family member. Rehoming fee does apply and is NOT cheap.
