OSWEGO, IL — As the coronavirus pandemic wreaks havoc across the state, a popular festival music festival in the village has been canceled for this year.
Oswego Beats & Eats, an all-day outdoor festival held annually on Main Street will not make its return this summer, the organizers announced in a social media post Wednesday.
"We've been trying to remain optimistic in these trying times in hopes that we'd still be able to salvage some summer fun & make more great memories," the post said. "However, due to the ongoing uncertainty of what lies ahead for the short term, we've had to accept that canceling Beats & Eats is an inevitable reality for the safety of our community."
Started in 2013, the festival was brought to the village by Oswego resident Macey Brooks, in order to celebrate diversity through music, art and food.
"We are looking forward to planning a great 2021 season & hope you all stay safe, healthy & we'll see ALL of your happy faces next summer! Thank you for your support & understanding," the Facebook post said.
