Highlighting the stories of humanitarian relief in Ukraine Join Us: A Night for Ukraine A total of 5 million people are expected to flee Ukraine due to the current war. Most are women and children. In some cases, children who were traveling with distant relatives have been left behind after family members dropped them off at the border and returned to Ukraine.* The magnitude of this humanitarian crisis has created an immediate need for basic, life-saving relief—water, food, safe transportation, and shelter. In support of Ukrainian refugees, we hope you will join us for a fundraising event, “A Night for Ukraine,” on Friday, March 25, hosted by ALX Community and in partnership with Love in ALX and Loan Signing Agent. All proceeds will directly benefit CORE (Community Organized Relief Efforts), a U.S.-based nonprofit whose volunteers arrived in Poland on February 28 and have been working around the clock to address the immediate needs of Ukrainian refugees on the ground. Your $25 event ticket will supply a family of four with three-day hygiene kits containing soap, hand sanitizer, toothbrushes, and other essential hygiene items, along with emergency thermal blankets to keep them warm amid freezing temperatures. Refreshments will be provided. Other giving opportunities include: • A donation of $250 provides a refugee family with cash assistance that allows them to use the funds in whatever way is most pressing, such as transportation, food, or clothing. • A $500 donation helps coordinate crucial psychosocial support to a refugee family. • A donation of $1,000 provides a month’s support to a family, helping with basic needs and materials to support families where they may settle, longer term. Our goal for the evening is to raise $10,000, all of which will directly support the people of Ukraine as they seek safety from this war. We hope you can join us.
