PALM DESERT, CA — The number two (slow) lane on southbound Portola Avenue in Palm Desert will be closed at Country Club Drive beginning Wednesday, May 13, for approximately one month to allow for the installation of utilities related to the nearby Avenida development. The lane will be closed continuously during this period. Delays are possible and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes such as Monterey Avenue and Cook Street.
