Description
OSWEGO, IL — Families with children who attend the Oswego School District 308 now have more time to choose on a preferred method of instruction for the 2020-21 school year. The district wrote in a statement Tuesday that the deadline has been extended until 4 p.m. July 24.
If parents or students do not announce their choice to the district by that time, district administrators will assume that students will be participating in in-person instruction.
The district administrators will present the remote learning plan during its Tuesday meeting, which will elucidate what could happen if Kendall County has to move back a phase or two in the state's reopening plan amid the pandemic.
Staff is also expected to answer questions regarding the existing plans for the fall, including giving families the choice to return to school at least partially in-person or fully remote.
"We hope that this evening's presentation and subsequent materials, along with our updated Frequently Asked Questions, you will feel better prepared to make this important decision for your family," the statement said. "Thank you for your continued cooperation as we develop our school plans in this new environment."
The Board of Education meeting is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Tuesday and will be live streamed online here.
