Description

Laudamus presents Lauridsen's "Lux Aeterna" and other works with special guest, CSU Concert Choir. In these challenging times, it has been shown time and again that light prevails over darkness and is a universal symbol of hope and reassurance amidst the unrest. In our second performance this season, Laudamus Chamber Chorale continues with the theme of "Light," presenting Morten Lauridsen's transcendent, Lux Aeterna (Light Eternal), accompanied by the wonderful Linda McGinn on organ, along with other reassuring pieces by Brahms, Faure, Powell, and Quartel. The five movements of Lux Aeterna all contain various references to "light," and the work has very similar qualities to Faure's Requiem, often described as having "healing powers" for those who perform and listen to it. We are thrilled to welcome special guests from Colorado State University's Concert Choir, joining us for this performance.
