Trish Manfredi will demonstrate several floral designs that illustrate current creative design trends.
Trish Manfredi, accredited Master National Garden Club Flower Show judge, and chair of CT Judges Council, will demonstrate several floral designs that illustrate current creative design trends. Developed mid-20th century, creative floral design results from the imagination and originality as an expression of the individual designer rather than from specific rules. Designs are strongly influenced by art and the environment around the world, due to the Web. These factors are also influencing the mechanics of design, with floral foam use declining. Trish will show alternatives to floral foam as concerns over the impact of traditional floral foam on the environment grows.
Trish presents floral design programs and workshops and judges throughout New England and Eastern New York State. Trish won the People Choice Award at Wadsworth Atheneum’s Fine Arts and Flowers exhibition in Hartford, where she has also participated in numerous design challenges. Her designs have been published in the National Garden Club’s Vision of Beauty calendar for a number of years including 2021 and 2022, and she just learned her design will be in 2023! Trish is from South Glastonbury and holds a doctorate in educational research.
