LA QUINTA, CA — An investigation into a La Quinta shooting in September led to the arrest Friday of a teen boy on suspicion of attempted homicide, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported. Around 9:30 a.m. Friday, Gang Task Force Officers tracked down the juvenile at a residence in the 68000 block of Estio Road in Cathedral City. It's not clear what led investigators to him. His identity was not released due to his age. Following his arrest, the Gang Task Force Officers served a search warrant related to the investigation at a residence in the 81000 block of Fred Waring in Indio and found evidence from the shooting, the sheriff's department reported. During the alleged September 20 shooting at a residence in the 47000 block of Dune Palms Road in La Quinta, three juveniles were standing outside their home when they were shot at multiple times by a suspect — later identified as the 17-year-old teen boy — with a handgun, the sheriff's department said. The victims were not struck by the gunfire.
