OSWEGO, IL — Oswego's annual holiday event has been reimagined as 2020 Christmas Walk Week: Keeping Spirits Bright amid the pandemic. The Village of Oswego, Oswego Downtown Association, and presenting sponsor Allied FirstBank will be keeping spirits bright and supporting the downtown Oswego businesses with drive-through, socially distanced, and online events, beginning with the online premier of the Tree Lighting Ceremony and the in-person Cookie Walk on Dec. 5, and culminating with the Christmas Drive on Dec. 12, plus illuminated holiday care-avans, throughout Oswego's neighborhoods. Cookie Walk Dec. 5; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Main Street, Downtown OswegoBuy a tin for $10 and go store-to-store collecting individually wrapped cookies from 22 of theparticipating downtown small businesses. Tins are limited, and day-of tins may be purchased atFloral Expressions, 26 Main Street, while supplies last. On Tuesday, the green care-avan route will start at Oswego East High School and wind through Prescott Mill, Brighton Meadows, Ogden Falls, Churchill Club, Victoria Meadows, Heritage, Farmington Lakes, Mill Race Creek, Windcrest and Southbury.
