Structure Fire Near Palm Desert Doused

PINYON PINES, CA — Flames from a structure fire in the unincorporated Pinyon Pines area near Palm Desert Tuesday evening spread to some nearby vegetation and a power pole before being extinguished by firefighters. Crews responded about 7:40 p.m. to the 61700 block of Palm Canyon Drive and found the structure fully involved in flames, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The flames sparked a small spot fire and damaged a power pole. The department announced about 8:50 p.m. the fire was out. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
