Seeking a part-time bookkeeper with experience in non-profit accounting and bookkeeping. We are a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing a beautiful, loving environment that encourages relationships between our sanctuary animals and the people who visit them.
We are seeking a part-time bookkeeper who is experienced with nonprofit bookkeeping and accounting. This is a long-term, flexible position that is approximately 12 to 15 hours per week. This position reports to the Founder and Board of Directors.
The bookkeeperʼs main responsibility is to ensure the accuracy of the sanctuary's books, produce financial reports as needed in order for our board to fulfill their fiduciary oversight responsibilities, grant and donation management, and reconciliations. Ongoing tasks include working administrative duties, recording accounts payable and accounts receivable, creating monthly financial statements, updating balance sheet and P&L, and other duties as assigned by the Founder or Board.
Skills & Abilities
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks
• Non-profit/restricted account experience a plus
• Additional proficiency in Excel, Google Docs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Strong mathematical skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
• Good judgment, with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
• Understanding of and commitment to the sanctuary's mission
