Learn what it is like to be deaf or hearing impaired with an Empathy-building experience with Grace Hearing Center.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Kids + Families will have the opportunity to learn about the challenges facing our hearing impaired and deaf community members.
In this Empathy-building experience, kids will gain a better understanding of what it is like to not be able to hear, including how to be a good helper to someone with hearing loss, participate in a hearing loss experiment + help Grace Hearing Center with a hands-on give-back project.
We will learn some basic sign languages phrases + interact with Grace Hearing Center audiologists, who are excited to read-aloud a hearing loss awareness book with our Kid Volunteers.
KIND NOTES:
This is an in-person and indoor project.
Masks are optional, depending on your level of comfort.
A takeaway snack will be provided for the Kid Volunteers at the completion of the project.
Stay tuned for additional details to help you prepare for the day!
