Join our Drink & Draw gathering at 'The Monroe' in Creative village Downtown Orlando. Sketching the food on our plates continues! The Orlando Urban Sketchers Drink&Draw, sketching the food in our plates experiment, continues! In the spirit of Urban Sketchers' Drink&Draw tradition, and as established worldwide, we are meeting to D&D again with friends sketchers from Orlando and Ctr. Florida. During this sketch-outing we'll challenge ourselves to sketch the food and beers served to our table. We will discuss food sketches from around the world done by members of the Urban Sketchers global community and share food sketching techniques in our sketchbooks. True to Urban Sketchers' vision & values, we support each other and draw together; we use any drawing media and cherish our individual styles. Where: The Monroe in Creative Village, Downtown Orlando. A place that provides an inspiring look into Orlando's African American heritage and Dr. William "Monroe" Wells's hospitable legacy and civil rights leader and iconic figure in Orlando's history. Chef Josh's menu serves nostalgic childhood favorites in the airy, midcentury space that captures the spirit of Orlando's rich history in its decor, menu, and community involvement. THIS is the story we wish to capture into our sketchbooks in our Thursday D&D meetup, a story of a place, time, good food, and community! When: Thursday after-hours, March. 24th, 6:00 to 9:00 pm Pack some drawing gear and join us on a round table drawing session to capture visual stories into our sketchbooks, bond and strengthen our friendship, share our art and sketching experience, and have a fun evening. Share this event with friends, sketchers, or those who wish to try drawing in a sketchbook on location.
