This program is about the theory, practice and science of pranayama.
SOO labs (the Study Of One) is based on the belief that we are the best experts of ourselves and through practice and knowledge we can reach higher states of consciousness, allowing us to heal and empower ouselves. In this course we will explore how we can mesh together knowledge from Yogic and western science to help acquire both a deep felt sense of pranayama and also a working knowledge of our inner physiology. Breathwork is one of the most powerful tools we have and the intent of this program is help practitioners establish a foundation in working with the breath.
Yogis and modern science both know that the breath is a pivotal function for the body and mind. But we can go beyond simply doing a practice because someone said it has some benefits. The course is designed to introduce pranayama theory and practice and give a biochemical explanation for the effects. We can now use breath as a tool to balance, charge and distribute energy as needed. This can be known through yogic philosophy and felt though physiology.
In each class you can expect a lecture, asana and pranayama practice, discussion and sharing.
