ORLAND PARK, IL — A senior at Carl Sandburg High School has received what she calls a "generous" scholarship from a local teachers union. Elise Blinn says she will use the scholarship from the Southwest Suburban Federation of Teachers AFT Local 943 to help her pursue a degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Here's a note of thanks she has submitted to Orland Park Patch through her mother, Marria Blinn. "A Big thank you to the Southwest Suburban Federation of Teachers AFT Local 943 for the generous scholarship!
