PHOENIXVILLE, PA — It's no secret that an upcoming HBO show featuring Kate Winslet has been filming around southeastern Pennsylvania for weeks. But on Thursday night, a bit of Hollywood came right into town on Bridge Street. The main drag was closed between Church Street and Wheatland Street from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. as HBO crews worked on the upcoming special limited series, "Mare of Easttown." There were also parking restrictions in place on numerous nearby streets, leading to headaches for some residents. Until now, many of "Mare of Easttown's" filming locations that became public knowledge were, well, less public. Filming took place at a vacant Kmart in Coatesville earlier in the fall, 6ABC reported. Winslet and co-star Evan Peters had also been spotted filming near Don's Deli in Boothwyn, Delaware County, Fox29 reports. But the Bridge Street closure, which lasted for five hours, could not be easily played off. There were notifications issued by the borough and police earlier this week that the road would be closed at the given time for a "production event," but, of course, no clarifying details were publicized. Plot details on the upcoming show have been scant. "A detective in a small Pennsylvania town investigates a local murder while trying to keep her life from falling apart," the IMDB preview of the show reads. It's Winslet's first television appearance since 2011's "Mildred Pierce." Perhaps best known for her starring role in "Titanic," Winslet has also gained critical praise for work in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and "Revolutionary Road," among numerous other films. >>New HBO Series Now Filming In Chester County "Mare of Easttown" is set to premiere at some point in 2020. It's directed by Gavin O'Connor, known for 2016's "The Accountant."
