SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – High winds toppled heavy branches in San Mateo County as high winds swept through the Bay Area Sunday night and into Monday morning, Cal Fire said. HIGH WINDS: It's been very gusty across Half Moon Bay. Coastside Fire just responded to another heavy downed tree branch partially blocking the road. Avoid standing under trees when winds are gusting. (No injuries here, fortunately) pic.twitter.com/pi60E36xtA— CAL FIRE CZU (@CALFIRECZU) October 26, 2020 Strong and critically dry winds are forecast to persist throughout the Bay Area through Monday, with critical fire weather expected through Monday morning, the National Weather Service said. Winds in the Bay Area will average 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph in most areas, and high in the North and East Bay hills. Highs across the Bay Area will be in the 70s, before cooling to the high 40s to mid 50s at night. A Red Flag Warning and Wind Advisory remain in the effect through midday Monday.
