MINNESOTA — A Minnesota native has been killed in Ukraine by Russian military forces, according to multiple reports. The State Department confirmed Thursday that an American was killed during Russian shelling of Chernihiv, a city about 90 miles north of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, the Associated Press reported. James "Jimmy" Hill was helping to care for his partner in Chernihiv when he was killed, KARE 11 reported, citing his sister. She told KARE 11 that Hill's family received confirmation of his death through the U.S. Embassy, according to the report.
