By Jon DePaolis, the Richard Free Press: ORLAND PARK, Ill. — The One Orland Party has announced its slate of candidates running for Orland Park trustee positions and Village clerk in the April 2021 municipal election. The group intends to run Amy Burrell, Chris Kasmer and Derek Rinaldi for trustee positions and Patrick O'Sullivan for Village clerk. In a joint statement released on their behalf on Thursday, Dec. 17, the candidates pointed to the current state of Orland Park politics as a reason for running for office. "Three years of division and ineffectiveness in Village Hall has resulted in a budget deficit for the first time in decades and the politicization of Orland Park families' health and safety," the statement read. "It's time to tackle the deficit our current Village Hall has left us, begin the hard work of rebuilding our economy in the wake of this pandemic, and end the division and corruption plaguing village politics and politicizing our health." The One Orland Party's ticket is being fronted by mayoral candidate Dan McLaughlin. "Together, this slate will ensure that Orland Park families are fairly represented in the Village Hall," the press release stated. "They will build a road to economic recovery after COVID-19 that will put working people first, support small businesses and workers, and end the deficits the previous administration has imposed on Orland Park families."
