SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Tony Award-winning director Baayork Lee is leading the production of "A Chorus Line," playing now at City Springs Theatre. The 75-year-old Lee, whose stage career dates back to her Broadway debut with Yule Brenner in "The King And I" when she was only 5, appeared in and helped choreograph the original production of "A Chorus Line." She is the basis of the character Connie Wong. Lee directed and choreographed the show's Broadway revival in 2006 and more recently directed the pre-pandemic production of Rogers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific" at City Springs Theatre in 2019. "A Chorus Line" dramatizes the trials and tribulations of would-be Broadway performers as they each vie for their big moment in the spotlight. The musical features the popular numbers "One" and "What I Did For Love" interspersed with some adult language and themes, and is playing through March 27. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to the City Springs Theatre website.
