Gun Found After Fleeing Felon Crashes Into Police Car: Cops

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park Police said a convicted felon fled from a traffic stop, hit a squad car and ran on foot after finding out he was going to be arrested for driving on a suspended license. According to police, on Nov. 4 an Orland Park officer on duty saw a vehicle westbound in the 8400 block of 159th traveling at 70 mph in a 4 0mph zone. The officer conducted a routine traffic stop on the vehicle, later learning that the driver, Eric McIntosh, had a revoked driver's license. When McIntosh discovered he was going to be arrested for driving on a revoked driver's license, he fled the scene, according to police. Police said an Orland Hills officer saw McIntosh escaping and that while fleeing, McIntosh struck the Orland Hills squad car several times while driving through the Georgio's parking lot. According to police, McIntosh's car became disabled and McIntosh continued to flee on foot. Orland Park officers managed to stop McIntosh after a short foot chase and took him into custody, police said. While searching McIntosh's car, police found a loaded handgun, and later found he is a convicted felon, according to police. Police said McIntosh was charged with the following: Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class 3 Felony)Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding (Class 4 Felony)Resisting a Police Officer (Class A Misdemeanor)Driving on a Revoked License (Class A Misdemeanor)Leaving the Scene of an Accident (Class A Misdemeanor)Aggravated Speeding (Class B Misdemeanor) McIntosh was taken to the Bridgeview Courthouse with a pending bond hearing scheduled for Thursday afternoon. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
