Phoenixville Prepares For Spooky Drive-Through Halloween

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville Area Middle School is the site for Saturday's spooky Halloween drive-through scare, beginning at 4:30 p.m. with scary monsters and the PASD Marching Band. The borough's Office of Emergency Management decided 2020 has been pretty terrible, so it gathered a community group to come up with a safe way to have some Halloween fun. The "Spookily-Distant Drive-Thru Halloween spectacle" was their creation. It will include pirates, a Little Shop of Horrors, monsters, a haunted school, and other surprises. "A fortune teller will gaze into their crystal ball and share a look into the future, enchanted brooms will glide magically through the Wizard's Garden, and PASD's Marching Band will be there to kick off the night," the borough announced. Phoenixville Mayor Pete Urscheler made his own entertaining video pitch for the event. Trick-or-treating was not forgotten in the pandemic. Children will receive a treat bag direct from the cave of Jurassic-era friends, the T-Rex Family at the end, all delivered in a socially distanced manner. The event lasts from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The borough reminds attendees masks must be worn when arriving at the candy distribution point. Entry must be from Beechwood Lane and drivers will be directed around the Phoenixville Area Middle and High School campus, on Purple Pride Parkway. No pedestrian traffic will be allowed, the borough said, "with special thanks to 2020." The event will be hosted by Phoenixville Office of Emergency Management, Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home & Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home and seven other sponsors.
