I saw this on business news today. • The average cost of an EV is $51,000 vs gas which is 34,000. The average person keeps a vehicle for 6 ears. If you cannot afford gas, you cannot afford an EV. If you say no problem I usually by used, keep reading. • A charging station is $1,500 to2,000 plus the cost of the charger which is between $2,000 and 5,000. It must be a myth that EV s are good for the planet because to manufacture EACH (yes EACH) EV battery you must process. • 25,000 pounds of brine for the lithium that goes into each battery • 30,000 pounds of ore for the cobalt that goes into each battery • 5,000 pounds of ore for the nickel that goes into each battery • 25,000 pounds of ore for the copper that goes into each battery So you have to dig up 500,000 pounds of the earth’s crust to mine for these minerals FOR JUST ONE BATTERY. This is beyond insane, but so are the powerful zealots pushing this. How can anyone say this is good for the environment? You have to figure, just like much in governments, someone is getting their palm greased and it is not the consumers. It is important to note that there is no way to recycle these batteries. There are 7 rare earth minerals that we do not mine in the US. They are mined in Russia, Ukraine, or Afghanistan and China owns most of the mines. By not being energy independent we are throwing away are independence. The ignorant uncaring elite zealots that are pushing this are not thinking of citizens or energy independence in the USA. Total disdain for the citizens of the US, while they put us in danger of destroying are industry while they drive in bullet proof Chevy Suburbans and private jets with the fuel paid by the tax payers. SO YOU PLAN TO BUY USED, RIGHT. Listen closely -the older an EV battery pack is the shorter the driving range keeps getting before you run out of power and finally it doesn’t go at all cause it cannot be recharged. So frustrated was a man in Finland who needed a new EV battery pack in is 2013 Tesla, when was told that would cost $23,000+. Crap! Many don’t even pay that for any USED car. The man decided to blow it up instead. That’s right! He blew it up. This is what the people we elect are putting consumers through. Now that is the price today. What do you think Russia, Ukraine, or Afghanistan and China will charge for these as time progresses and they know that the USA cannot drive with dead batteries? I wonder if this was reported on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, CNBC OR MSNBC. Doubt it, it is not part of the demonratic talking points. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zAhwiQ95Wg https://nypost.com/2021/12/24/tesla-explodes-after-mechanics-charge-man-23k-for-new-battery/
