Regional Rail Paper Tickets Being Phased Out: SEPTA

PHILADELPHIA — SEPTA is phasing out paper tickets on its Regional Rail lines come early October. According to SEPTA, no paper tickets will be sold for regional Rail Lines starting Friday, Oct. 2. This includes single trip tickets and 10 trip ticket strips. Paper tickets will continue to be accepted through the valid date stamped on the back. SEPTA is phasing out the paper tickets as it launches the SEPTA Key Card Travel Wallet feature for Regional Rail. SEPTA Key Cards provide a contactless way to pay fares. Travel Wallet funds never expire and always offer the lowest price fare option whenever traveling on Regional Rail lines. Key Cards are available at all SEPTA Sales Offices, including outlying station Ticket Offices. Riders can also protect Travel Wallet funds in the event cards are ever lost or stolen by registering Key Cards them.
