OAK LAWN, IL – As of Monday, there are now 67 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Oak Lawn, up from 47 cases previously reported, as the outbreak continues to spread through the south suburbs. The map produced by the Cook County Department of Public Health — includes municipalities and portions of municipalities within suburban Cook. Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie and Stickney have their own state-certified local health department. The data represents confirmed cases reported to CCDPH. As of April 6, there were 3,098 reported cases and 82 deaths attributed to COVID-19 infections in suburban Cook County. Fifty-four congregate settings, such as long term care facilities and nursing homes are now reporting one of more cases. Earlier this week, a 74-year-old man whose address matched Bridgeview Health Care Center at 8100 S. Harlem Ave., Bridgeview succumbed to coronavirus. Confirmed cases in Oak Lawn rose to 67, more than doubling in a single week. Orland Park logged 58 cases and Tinley Park reported 44 cases.
