State Rep Brian Sims Gives Update On Pennsylvania Vote Count

PHILADELPHIA — All eyes are on Pennsylvania in the presidential race, as the state's coveted 20 electoral votes are up in the air to go to either President Donald Trump or former Vice President Joe Biden. And a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly known for a strong social media presence gave an update on tallies Thursday morning, 48 hours after voting began. State Rep. Brian Sims, who recently was re-elected to the state's 182nd legislative district, tweeted Thursday morning that about 500,000 votes were counted overnight Wednesday. Sims said of those roughly half a million votes, 75 percent have been for Biden. According to the Pennsylvania Department of State, Trump has 3,210,611 votes as of 10:15 a.m. and Biden 3,051,609. The state reports 763,311 mail-in ballots are yet to be counted. Sims said Trump's "current lead of 170K is really a Biden lead of 100K-125K" when discussing the numbers.
