I’ve been reading posts from musicians who want to be paid what they think they are worth. I am an older musician, probably looked upon as a “has been” or a “past my prime” kinda guy. I am with a group of guys…BTW, NO DRAMA, NO EGOS, etc… which have been around a long time, also, and we play for the LOVE of playing… Not for the money, though there are gigs we contract for that would make some of you quite jealous! We play 8 to 10 times a month during the busy winter season. We enjoy having the “slow time” during the summer and always look forward to what the fall and winter months will bring. We are a cover band and love the music we play and we will continue to do so…NOT FOR THE MONEY but because we LOVE to gig!! We would rather play constantly, as we are now, for what you consider peanuts, than sit around and wish we had gigs! Some of you young guys eventually will be our age and it won’t be for the money any longer… It will be for the love of playing… Just saying
