We are a property management company looking for a few part-time/temporary maintenance techs and/or general laborers to work on unit turns and property maintenance projects. We are particularly looking for people with availability during the week of 5/26/22 to 6/1/22, when we have a large number of units turning over. In addition, we would like to assign at least a few projects between now and May 26th in order to build a working relationship before that week. We are looking for general laborers to do work such as patching walls, painting, and cleaning out items left in rental units, as well as more experienced technicians who can take care of the more advanced repairs and maintenance that will be needed. All ranges of skills will be considered! About us: Vertex Real Estate is a small but growing, residential property management company overseeing a variety of rental properties centered in Amherst, Massachusetts. We have a variety of houses, multi-unit buildings, rental condos, and small complexes. Most of our properties are in Amherst, Sunderland, Hadley, and a few in Northampton. The Job: Tasks for unit turnovers often include tasks such as: -Checking/replacing light bulbs -Replacing range fan filters -Inspecting/replacing knobs, locks, or hinges -Replacing doors, screens, and blinds -Re-caulking around sinks and tubs -Unclogging drains -Removing and patching holes from tacks, nails, and command hooks -Patching and painting larger holes in walls -Removing trash or furniture -Testing and replacing smoke detectors -Moving appliances Requirements: Must have a reliable vehicle to use to get to job sites. Access to your own hand tools is a plus, especially for skilled workers. Hours: Must have availability for at least 5 days between 5/26/22 and 6/1/22 (6-8 hours per day). Additional work would be scheduled between now and May 26th, but is more flexible in the scheduling. If you are interested, this could turn into more ongoing contract work. Compensation: The rate will range anywhere from $16-$26/hour based on skills and experience. The structure of the compensation would be for a 1099 contractor.
