Description
Researchers at Weill Cornell Medicine want to learn about Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH). This research study is for men over 50 with BPH and their partners (if applicable). We are looking to compare two different minimally invasive FDA approved BPH procedures.
Research is always voluntary!
Would the study be a good fit for me?
This study might be a good fit for you if:
•Men over 50 years of age
•Diagnosis of symptomatic BPH with a prostate size of 30 to 80 grams
•Willing to be randomized to a procedure
What would happen if I took part in the study?
If you decide to take part in the search study, you would:
•“Screening” tests will be conducted to ensure you qualify for the study.
•Be randomized to receive one of the procedures; either UroLift or Rezum.
•Follow up and answer questionnaires at designated time points (3 days, 7days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 12 months following procedure).
After completing the required study questionnaires and assessments at each follow-up visit, participants and partners (completion of questionnaires only) will receive payment of up to $455 to thank them for their time.
This study is not guaranteed to benefit you, but you may experience improvement of your BPH symptoms. The information gathered may also help improve the treatment of future patients with BPH.
