Description
Summary: The Fruit Tracking Analyst can expect to jump into an active tree fruit growing season with activities centered on learning orchard environment monitoring practices under the supervision of professional horticulturists and orchard managers. The analyst can expect hands-on learning experiences in soil moisture monitoring and irrigation scheduling using the latest in web-based technologies. Furthermore, the successful candidate will learn to use WSU DAS models to assist in decision making.
Duties: The successful candidate job duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Weekly tactile examination of soil moisture content for verification of soil moisture sensor readings at multiple
orchard locations.
• Daily soil moisture sensor web-software interface monitoring.
• Weekly debrief site orchard manager, site irrigators and management.
• Weekly gather, read, and analyze fruit size data
• Create trend graphs
• Assist Fruit Quality Analyst
The intern will be based in the McDougall & Sons, Inc. Office in Wenatchee, Washington, and will have the opportunity to work at company orchards located from Royal City southeast of Wenatchee to Orondo north of Wenatchee.

orchard managers, truck drivers, field consultants and packing house owners and managers.
• Ability to work independently or with a group to complete assigned tasks or projects.
