Press release from the City of Oak Forest: Help bring a little holiday cheer to Oak Forest and sign up to decorate a tree by the City Hall Gazebo. Trim-a-Tree Contest Information Registration for Trim-a-Tree Contest is open through November 23, 2020. Gather your family, co-workers, organizations, schools, clubs, etc., figure out a theme and plan to decorate a tree. The trim-a-tree contest is open to Oak Forest residents, businesses and organizations.Trees must be decorated by Sunday, December 6, 2020. You will receive an e-mail when the trees are up and ready for your decorations.All decorations must be weather resistant and securely fastened to trees. Lights cannot be accommodated.Please provide a sign identifying your tree. Signs on stakes work best.Due to COVID-19, we will not be having the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. Trim-A-Tree winners will be notified and announced during the City Council Meeting on December 8th.
