Join the Florida Museum and University of Florida's Thompson Earth Systems Institute for a deep dive into Florida’s springs!
This special series will include a screening and panel discussion with the films’ director and experts in the field. Take part in an engaging discussion and meet local organizations as you learn more about the importance, health and conservation of our state’s water. This is a FREE, private event - pre-registration is required.
Monday, May 23, 2022, from 6 – 8:30 pm at First Magnitude Brewery screen several short films by documentary filmmaker Eric Flagg and observe and discuss the baseline shift, how we perceive the health of the springs over time. A panel discussion will follow the screening.
Panel Speakers:
- Eric Flagg, documentary filmmaker
- Lars Anderson, Florida master naturalist and river guide
- Members of the Kings of the Springs, a non-profit organization committed to springs conservation through state-wide waterway cleanups and educational videos
Schedule:
6 - 6:45pm – Grab a beer from the tap room and food from the food truck (TBD), visit local organizations’ tables to learn more about how to get involved and find a seat!
6:45 - 7:45pm – screen several short springs-related films
7:45 - 8:30pm – moderated panel discussion and participant Q&A
