Spring is in the air and now is the time to start seeds for your backyard garden. Join us to learn new skills and plan for success. Are you ready to get your hands dirty? Have you been considering starting your own seeds for a kitchen garden or flower garden? If you answered yes, this is the workshop for you! We'll demonstrate how to start seeds, what tools and resources you need to be successful and participants will also learn about the Seasons of Gardening. Think that you can just grow from Memorial Day to Labor Day? That myth will be busted! You will walk away having a better understanding of just what is possible, year round in Cleveland. As an added bonus, you'll receive a Year Round Planting Plan from Kelly's Creations in the CLE, packed full of information! This will be a hands on demonstration at Bay Branch Farm, a local urban vegetable farm that has been growing in the Cleveland area since 2010. Participants will leave with a handful of soil blocks seeded and ready to germinate. The workshop will be facilitated by female entrepreneurs: Annabel Khouri, owner of Bay Branch Farm, has been planting seeds and growing vegetables for market since 2010. Annabel has a background in business and recently quit her off-farm job to pursue the dream of being a full-time farmer! Kelly Crotty, owner of Kelly's Creations in the CLE. In the past 5 years, Kelly has been able to create and install Kitchen Gardens and Landscape Bed Gardens for clients throughout the Greater Cleveland Area. Kelly provides what is necessary for you to have a beautiful, successful and bountiful Kitchen Garden or Landscape Beds of your own!
