Join us for an evening celebration of volunteers from the NRV who have been nominated as 2022 Leading Lights. NRV Leading Lights seeks to recognize volunteers from all sectors in the New River Valley who are making community changing impacts and serving as a model to inspire others. Established following the tragic shooting at Virginia Tech in 2007, this program was created by the German Club Alumni Foundation together with representatives from the nonprofit, faith, educational and other community organizations, to recognize volunteers in three categories: youth, collegiate and community volunteers. We are pleased that we will be honoring 36 nominees at this year’s event. All nominees will be recognized and receive a certificate. Eleven special NRV Leading Lights Distinguished Recipient Award winners will be announced, including seven general community recipients, and each of those eleven will be honored with a plaque and a financial donation made in their name to the charitable organization of their choice.
