Press release from Butler School District 53: March 24, 2020 The Board approved the 2020-21 school calendar at its meeting on March 16. The first day of student attendance during the next school year will be Aug. 24, 2020 and the last day will be June 4, 2021. Emergency days are scheduled from June 8-14, 2021. Winter break will be from Dec. 21, 2020 through Jan. 4, 2021. Spring break is scheduled from March 29 through April 5, 2021. The calendar is aligned as much as possible with Hinsdale High School District 86's calendar and is consistent with past District 53 calendars. The calendar was developed following a meeting of the calendar committee and a survey of stakeholders. In a related move, the Board also approved its 2020-21 regular meeting calendar. Upcoming Board meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 13, May 11 and June 8. These may be changed to virtual meetings or rescheduled as a result of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.
