Our community is canvasing ATX restaurants to find out who's using single use plastic, and we're going to help them shift toward reusables! Ever bothered by your favorite restaurant handing out plastic, when they could be using washable silverware or glassware instead? You're not alone! Join us in this month's endeavor to Rescue Restaurants (and Austin's environment!) OUR PLAN: - We want to canvas and rate Austin restaurants in a given area using an app called Plastic Score. - We'll be entering the restaurant and observing what kinds of materials they use. - We'll be rating the company on the app itself, based on what we are seeing or are served with regard to how much single-use plastics they are using. Materials like straws, cups, utensils, etc. - Plastic Score will take our data generated for this project and send us back stats that we can use. We can aggregate and then decide who we can help move to sustainable options. FIRST STEPS - at THIS meeting we will: - discuss how to use the app to gather high quality date - find a time to go together based on a date/area that work for our group We'll also have a follow up meeting on Zoom, look at our other event list!
