Village Closes Buildings As Coronavirus Cases Surge

Press release from the Village of Oak Brook: As you know, on October 23rd the Governor has placed DuPage County into a "rollback" as we began seeing a 7-day rolling average test positivity rate of 8 percent or above for three consecutive days, which exceeds the threshold set for establishing mitigation measures under the state's Restore Illinois Resurgence Plan. Since then, we have begun to see an increase in positive cases with some staff members and their family members. The Village continues to closely monitor our staff's safety and cases are changing daily regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective Thursday, November 5th, the Village Hall and Public Works facility will be closed to the public until we are brought out of the rollback restrictions by the Governor. The Police Department will remain open for walk-in services using the red lobby phone. Our Records personnel will work with our residents and follow the COVID-19 guidelines put in place with the DuComm 911 call procedures. Development Services will revert to the protocol we had in place previously by having individuals drop off any permits or paperwork in the north lobby and then using the phone in the lobby to contact staff. The Library already has restricted hours in place and will remain open for the time being. We feel that this action must be taken to help reduce any further exposures to our staff and to the public.
