Event for black and mixed boys and teens who are being raised by non-black caregivers at The Shea Butter Bar. An event hosted by The Shea Butter Bar and the Good Works Project/Branching Out Family Services, Brother Love Superhero Sip & Whip will celebrate black and mixed boys and teens who are being raised by non-black caregivers. Many of these boys are part of the foster adopt community, others are simply from biracial families. We will be creating inclusion, and intersectionality through having a fun and festive Sip & Whip Event at The Shea Butter Bar making shea butter and creating camaraderie between boys, their caregivers, and black and brown mentors who help them to feel embraced by the black and brown community and help to provide mirrors through which to see their future selves in. Open to 16 boys and an adult caregiver. For boys ages 5+, a Sip & Whip at The Shea Butter Bar is where you literally whip up a batch of your very own Shea Butter while sipping fun mock-tails and listening to great music. Shea butter can be applied on your skin and hair. Items provided: Apron, Hand Mixer, Gloves, Mixing Bowls, 8oz Jars, Spatula, Mock-Tails for Kids, and Endless R&B. Spaces will fill up quickly. A small donation/deposit will be required to hold the spot due to the popularity of this event. There will be a waitlist available.
