NORTHBROOK, IL — An employee of the Northbrook Public Library has tested positive for the coronavirus. The library announced Thursday it was closing to the public until at least Dec. 8 as a precautionary measure to "help reduce the spread of COVID-19 transmission in the community." According to a release, the employee last interacted with the public between 2-3 p.m. Nov. 6. Due to privacy laws, the library is unable to share more details. "We made this decision in response to a recommendation by the Illinois Department of Public Health to help to reduce transmission as numbers continue to rise as we head into the holidays," the library indicated in the release.
