Press release from Stamford Public Schools: March 15, 2022 - 3:15pm AITE is hosting members of a New England Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation team next week. The visit is part of the accreditation process, where NEASC's independent review insures the school's academic approach is aligned with specific standards, best practices, and also identifies areas that the school can focus on improving in pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning. "Our decennial visit starts on Sunday, March 20 and ends on Wednesday, March 23.  A team of educators will spend three days in the building, visiting classrooms, speaking with various staff, teachers, and students, and gathering information from our school's Self-Reflection and Decennial Reports to learn about our strengths and challenges," said Principal Tina Rivera. "I am confident that our visitors will observe all of the things that make AITE special during their time at our school." Sponsored by the Commission on Public Schools of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the program was offered for Principals and Steering Committee members of schools scheduled to be visited this year.  The seminar provided information to help schools finalize their plans for the Decennial Accreditation Visit and to learn more about the final report. The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, founded in 1885, is the oldest accrediting agency in the country and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a reliable agency to award Accreditation in the New England area.  The Association is a voluntary accrediting agency of approximately 2,000 public, independent, and international schools, and vocational, technical and career institutions.  Of these, over 700 public K-12, middle/high, and high schools have been accredited through the Association's Commission on Public Schools. NEASC Accreditation is a globally recognized standard of excellence which attests to a school's high quality and integrity. An accredited school must host an Accreditation Visiting Team every 10 years.
