MERIDEN, CT — The city's St. Patrick's Day parade is back on thanks to a last minute fundraising push. Previously it was expected that the parade would be canceled for a third year in a row due to pandemic disruptions, according to The Meriden Record-Journal. U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, a Meriden native, has led the fundraising push to help restore the parade. "The Meriden AOH is so thankful to Miguel Cardona for his fundraising leadership in enabling this beloved St. Patrick's Day Parade to take place after a two-year hiatus," Jim Finley and Doreen Roddy, parade co-chairs, said in a statement. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m. The parade will step off at 10:00 a.m. from the corner of East Main Street and Parker Avenue, continue through downtown Meriden and conclude at the corner of West Main Street and Bradley Avenue.
