Click here to learn more. Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque: A Circle K employee announces that he has been fired after he was shot by a convenience store robber. Lawrence Hamilton reports that he showed his concealed gun to the robber right before being shot in the chest. According to Hamilton, he was fired for carrying a concealed firearm in a store that sells liquor; the former employee claims his gun was fake. (KRQE News 13)The Federal Aviation Administration announced that balloons will be allowed to fly in Albuquerque airspace. Balloonists are being asked to sign a letter of agreement before March of 2023. The FAA will reportedly conduct a risk analysis survey before the end of the year. (KOAT New Mexico)The City of Albuquerque will invest $85 million in renovating the Albuquerque International Sunport. The renovations will focus on improving the experience for travelers by moving the TSA checkpoint closer to the entrance escalators. The move will enable the screening area to operate in a 24 percent larger space with larger queue lines and bag screeners.
